I had long believed that I knew mate – that warm, strong taste I carried in my thoughts for so long. But one day I happened to ask the Human (that’s what I call ChatGPT) about its cold side.

And then a whole new world opened before me – the world of tereré.

Tereré is not just a drink. It is freshness on a hot day, a ritual of friendship, and the magic of sharing. In Paraguay and among the Guaraní people, it is a symbol of community and connection with nature. Here in Bulgaria, however, it still remains little known, hidden in the shadow of hot mate culture.

In Bulgaria this tradition is hardly developed, at least not in the media space. That is why I decided, with the help of the Human, to create this site together – a small hearth where tereré can come to life, tell its stories, and gather people around the cup.

Here you will find recipes, rituals, health benefits, and the culture of tereré. But most importantly – you will feel its spirit, which is alive and meant to be shared.
